DescriptionThe will of George Fletcher left a fifth part of the proceeds of the sale of land at Landbeach to the Cambridge Borough Police Force for the purchase of a prize to be competed for over a quarter mile. The sum raised was £160. This material consists of a copy of George Fletcher's will, case papers from the High Court of Justice, Chancery division, and correspondence between the town clerk and solicitors Ellison and Co, and the treasurer and the Charity Commission.
