DescriptionThe Cambridge University and Corporation Act, 1894 was an act to amend the law relating to the jurisdiction of the University, making better provision for the use of commons, the management of markets and fairs and amend other respects of local government including the amendment of election districts. The series comprises reports of the Finance and Parliamentary Committees and the University Senate, briefs for the promotion of the bill, notice advising of public meetings and the promotion of the bill, draft resolutions for the promotion of the bill, notices served on inhabitants affected by compulsory land purchases, returned postcards from inhabitants assenting or dissenting to the bill, and copies of the bill often with amendments or notes.
