TitleOpinions of Counsel relating to the changing the Charity Scheme following changes to the jurisdiction rights of the University following the 1894 Cambridge University and Corporation Act
DescriptionThe change in legislation meant that the University could no longer use the section of the Spinning House for the its original purpose as a house of correction for prostitutes. The legal opinions relate to whether the University can retain the site, lease it out and use the revenue for charitable means or whether the site can be acquired by the town for use as a police station. Both changes required the scheme to be changed.
