TitleCambridge Women's Housing Society
DescriptionSet up in 1926 to provide accommodation (not lodgings) for business and professional women at a reasonable rent.

There were three main substantial properties (65 Lensfield Road, 19 Bateman Street and 2 Fitzwilliam Terrace) which were converted into self-contained flats, the money needed being raised by the sale of £1 shares in the charity. Other properties were bought or leased on a less permanent basis.

The properties were sold and the charity was wound up in 1949. The costs and administrative burden had become too much for a voluntary committee and the Association was not large enough to employ paid staff; it was also felt that the objects for which the Association was established had been achieved.
