Description | Four plans of Denver Sluice, showing two of Charles Labelye's proposed schemes for rebuilding the sluice and the sluice as it was actually built. There are now three distinct sets of plans R59/31/40/61/ii-R59/31/40/61/iv: the first comprises of R59/31/40/61/iii and R59/31/40/61/iv, which are labelled in an upright "printed" hand and the plan is certified as a true copy by Charles Labelye on 08 August 1745; the second comprises of R59/31/40/61/ii, R59/31/40/61/iii and R59/31/40/61/iv, which are labelled in a more cursive hand, but are not certified copies, and the third comprises of R59/31/40/61/ii and R59/31/40/61/iii, which are not been attributed to Charles Labelye at all. The third set was possibly copied from the second set, probably by the same draftsman. |
