DescriptionBy William Hayward. Plan of the Great Level of the Fens, showing the rivers and drains before it was drained by the Bedford Level Corporation. Scale 1" to 1 mile. Hand-drawn on linen-backed paper. This is not the original by William Hayward, but rather a 1727 copy by Payler-Smith. Originally wall-mounted in a mahogany case.
