DescriptionBundle of legal papers concerning the Commissioners of Sewers for Wisbech's claim that John Chicheley and Nathanial Kinderley have blocked the Wisbech River with a dam, and made a new cut under the west bank to divert the waters. They also claim that the new cut is too narrow, and will cause the lands on either side to flood during the winter months. This case was heard in the Court of Chancery in June 1723. Contains two "books" of depositions, which include the testimonies of Henry Bates, Richard Bentley, William Brown, David Cutto, William Clark, Nicholas Dennison, Jacob Dickerson, Abraham Dubois, Henry Feakes, John Franklyn, Charles Garbow, Thomas Gardner, Robert Gynn; Joseph Harvey, Edmund Hill, Samuel Long, William Nix, Jacob Norris, Edmund Ransley, John Richards, William Rix, John Rutter, John Scribo, Richard Skinner, Thomas Stevens, Nathanial Swalwell, John Thompson, John Wilkinson and Thomas Wilkinson.
