DescriptionLegal case in 1655: John Hopkinson, described as a famed ejector, tries to remove Myles Christenwheate from 1300 acres in Pulver farm in the parish of Somersham, which Christenwheate claims he was demised by Valentyne Walton in 1654. The documents include summaries of previous holdings of the land, and copies of other documents back to an agreement in 1256 between Bishop of Ely and Abbott of Ramsey. Includes a transcript of evidence of Martin Bend (of Chatteris, aged 94), John Douse (Chatteris, 60), Thomas Bend (64), Richard Loveday (Chatteris, 76), Richard Baseley (76), Richard Atkinson (Chatteris, 68), William Midleton (Ramsey, 64), John Coffard (Ramsey, 60).
