TitleHenry Brown v Thomas Templeman and Others
DescriptionBundle of legal papers concerning Henry Brown's claim that Corporation bankers Thomas Templeman, James Brown, John Giddings, John Kisby, Robert Giddings and George Hemment owe him £200, and several other unspecified sums. The bankers were contracted by William Farr to repair the banks of Morton’s Leam between Whittlesey and Thorney. They were to be paid by Henry Brown, the keeper of a public house in Whittlesey, and William Farr was to reimburse him. Henry Brown continued to pay the bankers until the end of 1812, but received no payments from William Farr after August 1812. This case was heard at the Norfolk Assizes in August 1813. Contains a legal brief for the defendants, which includes an account of monies paid and transcripts of the statements of individuals linked to the case.
