DescriptionThis bundle comprises 4 copies of the same legal case paper. Case relates to a house built upon the great bank and foreland where the great shires stand belonging to the Corporation at Denver Dam. Defendants claim the banks are part of 124 acres granted 21 July 1666 to Anthony St John and others, and St John conveyed it to the Earl of Bullingbroke, the legitimate owner. Plaintiff, Sarah Godfrey, claims a messuage that was built by the Corporation for the sass keepers: the last sass keepers were Lewis Godfrey and son Robert, both dead, the latter husband of Sarah Godfrey, through whom Sarah claims title. Reference to a deed of 3 May 34 Chas 2 [1682].
