DescriptionBundle of legal papers concerning John Walbanke Childers' decision to annul a deed that gave his son 932 acres [of Adventurers' lands] and "a qualification" in the Bedford Level Corporation. This suit was heard in the Court of Chancery in 1857. Contains draft affidavits of Thomas Archer, notes and correspondence. Also contains a case as to whether the Corporation is legally responsible for maintaining Smith's Leam from the funds of the North Level, together with the opinions of John Paget and Richard B. Crowder; printed memorandum of alterations made to the standing orders of Parliament in 1876, and further correspondence.
