TitlePetition of Several Owners and Occupiers of Land on Both Sides of Tong's Drain in Downham Market, Stow Bardolph, Wimbotsham
DescriptionThe petitioners report that their land was flooded for much of last winter, as Tong's Drain was run when there was no outfall into the River Ouse. They ask for the banks of Tong's Drain to be repaired and enlarged. They also ask for someone new to be appointed as sluice keeper, to prevent the same from happening again in the future. They also ask for the bridges to be repaired, so that they can reach their land between the Old and New Podikes. Thirty two signatories.
