DescriptionThe petitioners report that the bridge over Smith's Leam near the Dog in a Doublet is currently in a ruinous state. They believe it will cost £145 to repair it and discharge outstanding bills. They ask the Bedford Level Corporation to contribute one-sixth of the cost of the repair, as they contributed one-sixth of the cost of its erection in 1793. Forty nine signatories. Also includes an estimate for the proposed repairs.
