TitlePetition of Hugh Hovell, and his tenant John Symonds
DescriptionThe petitioner [Hugh Hovell] owns Redmoor farm, which he leases out to John Symonds. The Bedford Level Corporation built a house on part of it, and put in a poor family who have since died and left a great charge. He reports that John Symonds was forced to evict the children at his own expense, which cost more than £20. He also represents that the Corporation has cut a great drain across his land, which prevents him from reaching the river. He asks for two bridges to be built over the new drain. He also asks for compensation for the land spoiled by digging, and for the £20 to be repaid. One signatory.
