DescriptionVolume containing the draft minutes of the Bedford Level Corporation. These are expanded upon in Corporation Orders R59/31/10/32II, and Conservators' Proceedings R59/31/11/31HH and R59/31/11/32II. Also includes draft orders concerning tolls for animal traffic passing along Morton's Leam and for inspecting a sluice in Soham District; "Observations on the Estimate"; notes about the constitution and statutes of the Corporation; William Elstobb's bills for surveying the River Ouse in 1775 and the Bedford Level in 1775-1776; a copy of an order made about damage done whilst repairing the Corporation banks; a letter to James Golborne, concerning damage done whilst repairing the Corporation banks; Charles Nalson Cole's bill for viewing the South Level in 1777; a note detailing the height of tides on 30 March 1778 and 31 March 1778; an order to thank and re-imburse the Registrar for his troubles; letters from John Dunthorne to David Cowhard, concerning new iron needed for a sluice; and other notes.
