DescriptionArticles of agreement between Sir Francis Russell, Earl of Bedford; the Earl of Bullingbrooke; Henry Lord Matravers; Edward, Lord Gorges; Sir Robert Heath, Lord Chief Justice; Sir Miles Sandys; Sir Robert Bevill; Sir Gilbert Gerrard; Sir Thomas Tyrringham; Sir Robert Lovett; Sir Philibert Vernatti; Miles Sandys Jr; Dr William Sames, Anthony Hammond, Oliver St John, and Samuel Spalding, in which the Earl of Bedford undertook to drain the Great Level of the Fens by Christmas 1635 (otherwise he would forfeit his share to the other Adventurers) and the Adventurers agreed to pay the Earl of Bedford the remaining £48,000 of their share of the cost of draining the Great Level of the Fens.
