DescriptionThis list is based on descriptions on the outside of rolls or in source guides. The list only includes those plans which were formerly in long map boxes or loose on shelves and does not include any of the contents of items (formerly in) Viking boxes, or any maps which directly derive from the operation of Land Drainage (anticipated as S/) even when incorrectly marked as 283/P. The list is subject to alteration, partly because it has compiled quickly in order to secure unique identifiers for the records; partly because some further plans appear to be indicated by receipts; also because the initial receipts are not always adequately clear about distinctions between drainage papers (S/), Dean and Chapter (D&C/) and Evans (283/); also that for final descriptions the list by Simon Meaney and the receipts will both require matching, hopefully with addition of greater accuracy in dating; and also because some weeding/deaccessioning is possible of Ordnance Survey plans, which are hence described at the end. The records appear entirely to derive from the 9 separate tranches of R61/30. The plans are rolls unless marked as flat plans (F) and include one volume (V).
