Description | The Mid-Anglia Constabulary was established in 1965 from the amalgamation of the Cambridgeshire Constabulary, Isle of Ely Constabulary, Cambridge City Police, Huntingdonshire Constabulary and Peterborough Combined Police Force. The Chief Constable was Frederick Drayton Porter who had an Assistant Chief Constable, Chief Superintendent and Chief Inspector. Constables were supervised by their station sergeant. Mid-Anglia Constabulary was renamed the Cambridgeshire Constabulary in 1974. |
