DescriptionUnidentified foundation stone laying ceremony. This may in fact be the stone-laying ceremony for St Luke's Methodist chapel in Papworth. There is a receipt among Frederick Hinde's probate accounts (accession 4824/1) addressed to the Methodist Recorder for the supply of two photographs of "Papworth Stone Laying" dated 23 October 1926. Is this one of the photographs? Looking at the ladies' clothes, the image would certainly appear to date from the 1920s.
