TitleBazaar Opening
DescriptionThe opening of a bazaar. This may be the bazaar held in the Corn Exchange, St Ives, in 1904 in aid of funds for the extension of the Literary Institute. This bazaar was known as "The Delhi Durbar" and two men can be seen here clothed in eastern dress. It was attended by the Mayor, Mr. Brownlow, and an important guest named "The Maharajah Kantellum", dressed in Indian garb. This photograph was used by Valerie Kendall in her book "Portrait of St Ives". See also WH2/246 and WH2/109
