TitleSt Ives Floods
DescriptionView of the causeway at St Ives, possibly during the flood of 1894. The railway line from Huntingdon can be seen crossing the causway or New Bridges. It is raised on a trestle bridge to take it over the flood plain. The signal box can be in the middle distance. Note also the railway signal to the right of the chimney of Brown and Goodman's Mill. This mill was built in 1854 by Potto Brown and Joseph Goodman, millers of Houghton. Milling stopped in 1888, and the building was used as a warehouse and granary until it was adapted for printing in 1902 and became Enderby's printing works. More recently Sir Clive Sinclair's electronic firm was based here. The mill has now been converted to flats and the chimney has been demolished
