| Description | The shop front of Freeman, Hardy & Willis Ltd, of Huntingdon, boot and shoe manufacturers. This shop was opened c.1890 and was situated at 110 High Street, Huntingdon (Alexandra House). The photograph is similar to WH/1/116, but there is now a male assistant in the doorway of the shop and two boys are standing to the right. The 1891census records that a Thomas Fairhurst, aged 31, was manager of the shop, and a Frank R. Taylor, aged 20, was the salesman. |
