DescriptionAnd a common recovery. Reciting that a marriage has taken place between William Marshall son and heir of Sir John Marshall and his wife Dame Lucy, deceased, and Elizabeth one of the daughters of Sir William Blackett of Newcastle Upon Tyne, deceased. Now in consideration of the marriage and for £6,000 to be paid as Elizabeth's marriage portion, Sir John Marshall and his son agree to permit Sir William Blackett of Wallington, Northumberland, son and heir of the late Sir William and only brother of Elizabeth, and John Bullock of Falkborne Essex, Esq; to recover a moiety of the Manor of Woodwalton alias Walton Bevills and Cornwallis, a turn in the presentation to the Advowson, Rectory etc. of the Parish Church of Woodwalton and the premises in R4/2/1 and the Marshalls further agree to levy unto Blackett and Bullock a fine of a moiety of the Manor of Great Brockalls in Radwinter, a moiety of the Manor of Weild Barnes and a moiety of the Manor of Yardley Hall in Debdon, Thackstead and Wimbich and other lands and premises in Radwinter, Wimbish, Thackstead and Debdon, Essex, and they are hold both sets of land etc; to the usersof William Marshall, his wife and their male heirs.
