TitleMemorial to the Abbots Ripton railway disaster.
DescriptionThis photograph was originally taken by Arthur Maddison and this print was made by Ernest Whitney. The memorial stood for many years at the site of the railway disaster in 1876, but is no longer in existence. In this image the memorial cross is in the foreground, with a gang of men working on the railway lines, and the signal box and a house can be seen in the distance.
Ernest Whitney has written on this print "Memorial of the Railway Disaster nr Abbots Ripton between 60 & 90 years ago"
