TitleThe interior of the saloon, Kimbolton Castle
DescriptionThis is an earlier view of the Saloon, looking towards green drawing room. It is the same image as WH3/203A, which has been dated to the 1860s. The Saloon is uncarpeted, but one of the prismatic glass twelve light chandeliers can be seen, as well as one of the light gas brackets with globes by the fireplace, a shaped fronted ebonized black buhl and red tortoiseshell cabinet, a circular rosewood loo table on a pillar tripod with claw feet, a 28" statue of Moses and a Louis XIV clock on a bracket heavily mounted in ormolu surmounted by a Cupid figure (descriptions taken from the 1927 Castle inventory, reference Manchester 2/110).
