Description | Trinity Church Boys Brigade group with their officers. The gentleman in the centre of the group may be the Reverend Guyton. He served in India as a missionary before he came to Huntingdon. The photograph may date from 1901, as the Maddison and Hinde order book records that a photograph of the 1st Huntingdon Boys Brigade was taken in that year. However, it has been noted that the Reverend Guyton suffered from recurrent bouts of illness, and by the time he retired in 1901 he had a rather drawn complexion and his hair and beard were grey. The man identified in this photograph as the Reverend Guyton has a fuller face and dark hair, therefore, if the identification is correct, this photograph may date from the 1890's. The Reverend Guyton was Pastor of Trinity Church 1890-1901. The officer standing on the left of the group is Frederick Hinde the photographer. He had formed this Boys Brigade troop with a Mr Tysoe, and took an active part in the activities of the Brigade.
