TitleBill in Chancery: Dean and Chapter of Ely (lords of the manor of Pelham) and Talbot Pepis of Impington (farmer of this manor), requesting that a writ of subpena to attend Court be served against Thomas Hobson and others (Christ's College, St. John's College, King's College and various free and copyholders of Cottenham)
DescriptionThe complaint is that the Articles of Agreement, dated 20 November 1596 and confirmed by decree in Chancery, are inequitable as they do not allot any inclosed land to them although they are being excluded from their ancient common rights; they ask that either these rights be restored to them or part of the remaining commonable ground be allotted to them in recompense; some marginal notes have been added (note: document fragmented towards end; 33 folios).
