Title | Letter from Lord Robert Montagu, House of Commons, to his brother, the Duke of Manchester |
Description | It is extraordinary that he received no word of their grandmother's illness from him, [their sister] Live or [her husband] Tankerville, or he would have travelled down to see her sooner. He recoiled from the idea of going after her death, as he would have seen those of her family who had utterly ignored him until then. As one of her executors, he should inform the Duke that it was illegal for him and Tankerville to go through her boxes and burn her papers immediately after her death. He does not wish to give touble but desires to be treated with common fairness. |
