Title | Letter to Millicent, Lady Mandeville, from her husband, Lord Mandeville, London |
Description | Addressed to Millicent in Nice [France]. Does now know where to pay Verity's money nor the sum. Recounts the Orange Institution going before the house of commons, Peel and Studley behaved well but Shaw "acted quite the part of a traitor". Needs a valet as he can't speak French. Been invited to Ireland after Easter, hopes to make for Nice by train soon so they can can have an early meet. Grieved to hear abour Mr Laughling. Thought Freddy had something wrong around his navel. Compliments her picture of the family arrangements by Domenico (?). Warns her to be guarded in her conversations with La Croix about papists. Her mother [Olivia Sparrow] and William Bentick are living together in 30 Albermale Street, will likely see more of her now but not seen her yet. Closes with a hymn. |
