My lord Duke, it is with great regret that I am obliged to decline the honour and pleasure of your Grace's invitation for tomorrow, but I would not accept it without neglecting positive duty. In your Grace's book, I am particularly obligued. I have read through the article "Nileuchadnesse[?]" again, and still think that the arguments amount to demonstration. I intend, however, to read it all carefully through, and consider with what appears to me to be the most interesting and useful contribution to prophetic interpretation with which I am aquainted."
