TitleDeposition: John Neville accused by George Watts, wheelwright, of stealing two steel springs. A curious case. The prosecutor as well as Thomas Reeve, baker, Alwalton testified to the previous good character of Neville (crippled after an accident.) but the Fletton constable reported a virtual confession Frederic Porter, Peterborough, gentleman wrote a strongly worded testimonial on behalf of the prisoner who pleaded innocence - and was acquitted.
