TitleConcerning the theft of four sacks of coal, belonging to Thomas Waite, coal merchant, Yaxley, from a barge lying in the river at Stanground, William Smith, John Leach, Thomas Andrews, of Stanground, labourers, and William Leach, Peterborough, tinman, were accused. Smith and John Leach committed, the others discharged for lack of evidence. (William Brewster, Stanground, labourer, deposed to having seen Smith and J. Leach carrying coals to an empty cottage and to Leach's appeal to him to say nothing as if it was found out it would transport him)
