TitleOral history interview: Peter Hall on the history of Glatton
DescriptionPeter Hall gives an account of his childhood in Glatton during the Second World War, including his friendship with an evacuee from London called Brenda. Peter discusses the American soldiers from Glatton Airfield. He recalls attending Christmas parties at the airfield as a child and shows the interviewer a programme and photograph from this time. He also describes the air traffic over Glatton, highlighting areas which suffered bomb damage and describing the B-17 aircrafts. He states there were many casualties in the Glatton area and gives examples of crashes. The interview concludes with Peter talking about prisoners of war who came from local camps to work on the farms in Glatton.
