| Description | The agreement is to appoint Mrs Flora Beatrix Pentelow as the certified head teacher of Buckworth Church of England School from the 8th April 1940.
The miscellaneous papers are: copy of brief statistics relating to the School, conveyed to the Rector & Churchwardens in 1870, a list of those who donated money to the school, that it was enlarged in 1898, and deed went to Canon Mostyn in 1906; letter dated 10th November 1948 from the Huntingdon and District Food Office re the grant of a catering licence to the school, and stipulating the school will be granted permits to obtain certain rationed and controlled foods (listed); letter dated 21st May 1954 from the head teacher Mrs Pentelow to the Education Committee, Gazeley House, Huntingdon, outlining that there is no water supply to the school, and asking for a covered pail as drinking water has to be fetched from the well daily and the uncovered pail allows leaves to fall into the water. |
