Description1. Honourable Francis Needham of Waresley. 2. Robert Baker of Heydon, Essex, farmer. 2 messuages in Waresley, late occupied Robinson and Taylor with 395acres arable and pasture, and 12acres in Gamlingay (exception as in lease to Walker) Rent: £678 per year payable quarterly. Covenants - Several covenants are similar to those in lease to Walker, carriage of 24 chaldrons coals to mansion house to be performed by tenant. Tenant to lay down to grass near Stockings, Middle Stockings, Far Stockings and the Second Wood Close, 25acres, within 9 years-penalty £40 per acre. Crop retain during last 4 years of lease. Not more than 1/4 to be sown with wheat. Not more than 1/4 acre to be sown with barley or oats. 1/4 to be sown with turnips duing first 3 years of last four years or to lie fallow, and in last year to be sown with grass or pulse crops. Condition in which crops are to be left at end of lease: 1/4 turnips or coleseed on land ploughed not less than 4 times. 1/4 artificial grasses of one year's layer layer. Lessor to pay for these and for hay left on premises Penalty £10p acre for failure to comply with this system of husbandry. Guarantee of freedom with tithes, except 12acres in Gamlingay Field.
