TitleInquisitio Post Mortem
DescriptionTaken on the death of Thomas Cotton, Conington, who died on 30th May last. He was possessed of lands in Conington, Glatton and Holme lately bought from Richard Williams als. Cromwell and from Philip Parys by his father Thomas Cotton. Also lands in Conington similarly bought of Trinity Hall, Cambridge. Lands in Caldecott, Denton and Walton. Lands subject to annuities of £80 for wife Dorothy and £20 each to Henry, Thomas and Ferdinand, his sons by her. Manor of Denton to provide for Thomas, son of first marriage, for a term of 99 years. All lands, after trust for 21 years, (except those in Ashby) to be entailed on to his sons and bros. in tail male, beg. with Robert, his eldest son. Dorothy and Robert are alive and living at Conington, the latter being 21 years old. Details of yearly yields of the various lands. Document then breaks off. (Incomplete) (With translation)
