DescriptionMinistry of Health circular 1882. A very important circular dated 2 October 1939 to county councils and medical officers dealing with the whole range of care for evacuated children of all ages, expectant mothers, hospital accommodation for infectious diseases, 'sick bay' accommodation, difficult children, etc. Memo Ev.8. Booklet dealing with government evacuation scheme in all its aspects. The remainder of this file contains Ministry circulars and memos concerning the care of evacuated children in nurseries, in hospital and in private billets, up to the end of the war when London County Council circular NS/R/1 deals with arrangements for the return of special parties, such as whole nurseries, the blind, deaf and others accommodated in homes, and Ministry of Health circular 85/48 - Closing down of the government evacuation scheme.
