DescriptionThis series comprises reports compiled by officers of the Public Health department. The majority are sanitary reports, later annual reports of the Medical Officer of Health. The annual reports are divided into five main sections: organization and administration, looking at the role of committees, staff and the organization of the department; general statistics of health and disease, with statistical summaries, vital and mortal statistics and the incidence and control of disease; and environmental hygiene looking at natural and social conditions, the atmosphere, water supply, the supervision of food and drugs, housing, and related matters; welfare services, including maternal and child welfare, school health; and then matters headed as miscellaneous including visitors, ambulances, and research.
