DescriptionThe Finance Committee met monthly and dealt with the management of the finances of the Borough. Issues discussed included estimates of payments and receipts; dealing with outstanding cheques, costs of repairs and maintenance to the Lunatic Asylum; bank pass books produced and compared with duplicates; loan agreements; authorizing salary payments; authorizing finance to purchase land and erect houses; and the breakdown of finance held in different accounts, for example the borough and district fund; the education fund; the superannuation fund; and the general fund.
