TitlePetition of William Young, of Watton, Norfolk
DescriptionThe petitioner is administrator of the goods and chattels of the late Robert Young, of Downham Market. He reports that James Harris borrowed large sums of money from Robert Young. On becoming insolvent, he [Harris] conveyed a certain cottage on the south bank of the Bedford River to Robert Young in June 1774. Robert Young later discovered that Harris was only a tenant to the Bedford Level Corporation, but was unable to claim any redress. He asks to be granted a 21-year lease, as it is part of Robert Young's estate. One signatory.
